Databases- Love them or Hate them?
Write three to four sentences comparing databases to search engines. Why might you prefer one over the other?

Well Kind of tricky at the beginning and kind of frustrating until you get the hang of it. I love it has Citations options already there.

Databases are better to refine your search. Databases are better used to do reserach for educational or professional useage. Search engines are good for everyday wide searches. They are better to use for general searches.

Search engines to me were very easy to understand, i use google and yahoo almost every day. Databases are a little bit more complicated and take a little more time to find exactly what your looking for, there is a lot of writing and things to read.

I like databases a lot more than search engines. Databases are really great for research. A search engine can be good also, if you can't find something you are looking for.

Databases take a little more practice to navigate, but can be more specific in doing so. Half of my problem is I have never been exposed to databases before, therefore am unfamiliar with all the uses and its navigation . It seems that the search engines are better for very wide, general searches, where the database is better for more specific and educational information.

I thought that search engines where the best place to get your information. But after tonights class I found that databases are the way to go. I love the fact that it cites for you. That takes alot of my fear out of writing a paper. Things were definitely easier to find.

Databases take a little getting use to but I think they are better for research. I think what you can't find on the database you could still try to locate in the searchengines. The tricky part of the database was deciding which one to select. After tonights class a little easier to use.

I think Databases are better. You can refine your search much better opposed to the internet. Good tool to use.....~TP
i like databases because it breaks bown searches and help you get more accurate information about what you need to find. Databases are better to do research with educational purposes. GJ
if you know what you are searching for its not that hard. i think google guves a more refined search were as yahoo gives you a more broder search
